ORAC Values by USDA
Early findings suggest that eating plenty of high-ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbency Capacity) fruits and vegetables – such as spinach, blueberries, and prunes – are powerful antioxidants that may help slow the processes associated with aging in both the body and the brain.
According to the ORAC Values (developed by USDA Agricultural Research Service), Clove has the highest antioxidant value of all foods. Clove’s ORAC value is at 1,078,700 µTE/100g.
To give you an idea of what this means…. oranges are rated at 750 µTE/100g, Kale is rated at 1770 µTE/100g, Raisins are rated at 2830 µTE/100g, Prunes are rated at 5770 µTE/100g and Clove is rated at 1,078,700 µTE/100g.
