Mullein Flower TeaAlywillow
Mullein is sometimes 8 feet tall and its beautiful flowers bloom for only one day! Dioscorides, a 1st century Greek physician, pharmacologist, and botanist, was one of the first to recommend using Mullein flowers for healthier lungs around 2,000 years ago. Mullein Flowers were sometimes used as a hair wash in ancient Roman times; the leaf ash to darken hair and the yellow flowers for lightening it. Native Americans traditions used Mullein root for teething rings and the leaves for poultices and mixing with other herbs to smoke. The stems were used for candle wicks and the flowers as teas. It is believed to magically give one courage, health, fertility, and love.
