Sage; Salvia officianalis
High concentrations of Vitamin A, C, B-family, K, and E, copper, fiber, calcium, iron, and magnesium make sage a very popular herb. Sage is helpful in lowering anxiety, reducing blood sugar levels, boosting appetite, soothing the stomach, stimulating the immune system, and aiding in weight loss. Low to moderate consumption of sage tea is recommended. Those with existing liver and kidney conditions, pregnant, or nursing should not consume this tea as it contains thujone.
Use 1 cup of very hot, but not boiling water to 1-2 tsp herb. Steep for only 3-5 minutes and strain well. Sweeten with a natural sweetener as desired. Drink hot or cold. This tea can be consumed every day.
