Mullein Herbal Tea
Soft, soothing, and beautifully simple.
Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) is a velvety-leaved herb with a long history in traditional herbalism, especially in traditions focused on the lungs, throat, and respiratory system.
Its mild, earthy flavor has delicate, almost cucumber-like notes, making Mullein an approachable herbal tea even for people who don't normally drink herbal teas.
Naturally caffeine-free.
Mullein & Traditional Herbalism
Mullein has a fascinating history in European and American folk herbal traditions. Herbalists have traditionally turned to Mullein when caring for people experiencing seasonal respiratory challenges, including those associated with allergies, cold and flu season, asthma, and bronchitis.
Mullein also has a traditional association with relaxation and sleep, and it has historically been included in herbal practices for people experiencing occasional sleeplessness or insomnia.
These references describe Mullein’s history and traditional herbal uses and are not intended to suggest that Mullein Tea treats or cures these conditions.

Mullein Leaves Details
Botanical name: Verbascum thapsus
Ingredients: 100% Mullein leaves
Caffeine: Naturally caffeine-free
One bag: Each bag contains approximately 1 cup (48 teaspoons) of loose Mullein leaves—enough for about 48 cups of herbal tea. Weight varies naturally with each harvest, as the density of the dried leaves can vary.
How to Make Mullein Tea
- Add 1 teaspoon of Mullein leaves to 1 cup of very hot, but not boiling, water.
- Steep for 3–5 minutes.
- Strain thoroughly using a tea bag, tea filter, or very fine-mesh strainer.
- Sweeten naturally if desired.
- Enjoy hot or cold.
Why Does Mullein Tea Need to Be Strained Well?
Mullein leaves are naturally covered in tiny, soft hairs. These fine plant fibers can be irritating to the mouth and throat if they remain in the finished tea, so careful straining is important.
