Code of Ethics
Our goal is to make benevolent choices, not because of the threat of punishment or a promise of reward, but because we wish everyone to experience more joy.
- Give Gratitude for Life. Each morning, upon rising and each evening before sleeping, give thanks for the life within you and the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Life is shorter than we can imagine, so fill it with goodness. Guard your time as the precious gift is it. Do not let thieves riddle your life with confusion, robbing you of your time and energy. Bring more beauty into your life by surrounding yourself with companions who strive for more wisdom, joy, and kindness.
- Be Benevolent: Consider how your thoughts and actions affect others and seek the courage and strength to improve. This means honoring privacy, honesty, and goodness. Do not intrude on a person's quiet moment or personal space. Choose those things that benefit everyone, not just yourself.
- Show Respect. This means considering the well-being of or treating someone or something with kindness or courtesy. Treat every person with respect, be considerate of them, and recognize special respect should be given to elders, teachers, and wise leaders.
-
Be Authentically You. Be who you are always, regardless of who is around you. Don't pretend to be someone you aren't. Be truthful at all times and under all conditions.
- Be of Service. Alywillow exists to serve others - to help families, communities, nations, and the world. Do not fill yourself with your affairs and forget your most important tasks - to serve others through kindness. As a representative of Alywillow, you are to be fully honest with each guest, not focused on sales but instead focused on information, education, and assistance.
- Earth is our home and a beautiful gift. Treat the earth and all of her aspects as our beloved family. Do nothing to pollute our planet. Show deep respect for the mineral world, the plant world, and the animal world. Rise with wisdom to defend Earth. The dirt is Life. Water is Life. Air is Life. Without water, dirt, and air - we do not have a home.
- Uplift and Elevate Others. We are each responsible for our own lives. Show deep respect for the beliefs and ideas of others. Do not force or manipulate each other. It is each person's right to find the right path for their life. This means you don't speak negatively about others. No person should be made to feel "put down" by you; avoid hurting other hearts as you would avoid a deadly poison.
- Listen with your heart first, then your mind. Listen courteously to what others say, not to respond but with the intention of understanding. Even if you feel their words are worthless, remember we can learn from all things, even if we are learning patience. Expect guidance to come in many forms: in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends. Filter all decisions with the wisdom and kindness of your heart and then the knowledge of the logic of your mind - in this order.
- Make each choice in kindness. When kindness is missing, we find only theft. Murder is the theft of life; larceny is the theft of possessions; chaos is the theft of time and function; and war is the theft of peace, home, and safety. Kindness restores, it heals, it builds bridges, it creates respect, and it turns enemies into friends.
- Respect Leadership. Respect the wisdom of the people in council/government. Once you give an idea to the group, it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the people. Respect demands that you listen intently to the ideas of others in council and do not insist that your ideas prevail. Indeed, you should freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good, even if those ideas are quite different from the ones you have contributed. The clash of ideas brings forth the Spark of Truth. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time
-
Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests. Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family. All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. The hurt of one is the hurt of all. The honor of one is the honor of all. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator, they must all be respected. Alywillow customers are our guests. They are to be treated with respect and kindness.
-
Strive for Coherence. Know those things that lead to your well-being and those things that lead to your destruction. Observe moderation and balance in all things. Temper your highs and your lows. Coherence creates beautiful experiences at home, work, and play. We achieve this harmony when we reliably and consistently aim for the betterment of all.
Alywillow - where nature is respected, people are appreciated, and kindness prevails.
