Just in Time for Fall
For the first time ever, Pumpkinight is a Level 5.
Pumpkinight is pumpkin spice from pure plants with no synthetic ingredients, and it's unlike anything else except maybe a pumpkin pie. It's dreamy!
It is rich. It is concentrated. It is made in small batches. And that wonderful Pumpkinight aroma does not come from a bottle of synthetic pumpkin fragrance. Even if you don't normally love pumpkin scents, I hope you'll give it a try. I think you might be surprised.
After the first run was complete, everyone on our team asked to take one home - everyone. It's actually rare to find something that everyone loves so much.
We didn’t create it simply because we wanted another Pumpkinight product. We created it because Pumpkinight and Level 5 belong together! You should have seen us all in the cauldron (our melting room), getting excited about how it smelled and felt!
Pumpkinight brings us the warm, softly spiced plants of the season, including real pumpkin and spices. Level 5 gives those plants an entirely different kind of home: our thickest, richest, most concentrated pure-plant moisturizer.
The result is PUMPKINIGHT Level 5 Moisturizer — PN5.
Why We Made Pumpkinight Level 5
Pumpkinight has been part of Alywillow for years, but until now, it has only been available in our bar and foaming cleansers (UDC). This is the first time we've ever put it into a moisturizer, and Level 5 is the richest full-body moisturizer we create.
When skin becomes very dry, rough, cracked, chapped, or exposed to cold air and wind, a light moisturizer may simply be insufficient. Very dry skin needs Level 5, but almost all skin types will enjoy it. Level 5 was created to provide a much richer layer of plant-based moisture. That makes Fall an especially beautiful time to introduce PN5 as this is when many of us start to notice our skin getting dryer.
Pumpkinight Level 5 combines the richness of our Level 5 moisturizer with one of our favorite seasonal plant formulas.
What it means to be “Level 5”
Level 5 is our richest full-body moisturizer.
It is a thick, concentrated plant butter made for skin that needs more than light daily moisture.
A tiny amount goes a surprisingly long way. Start with an amount about the size of a green pea. Warm it between your clean palms, and it begins to melt into a smooth oil. Massage that into the skin and allow the plants and natural oils to spread.
That concentrated texture is one of the biggest differences between Level 5 and an ordinary lotion.
We aren't filling the jar with water simply to make more product.
We aren't relying on synthetic emulsifiers to hold water and oil together.
We aren't adding artificial fragrance to make it smell appealing.
What you're holding is concentrated plant material, botanical oils and butters.
That is why you need so little.

Walk through almost any store in Fall, and you'll find “pumpkin” everywhere.
Pumpkin candles. Pumpkin lotions. Pumpkin soaps. Pumpkin room sprays. Pumpkin perfumes.
But a product that smells like pumpkin doesn't necessarily mean there's any pumpkin inside it. That distinction matters to us.
We make Pumpkinight with real pumpkin and spices. Its warm, softly spiced character comes from the formula itself rather than a synthetic fragrance created to imitate Fall.
We don't believe your skin needs an artificial chemical fragrance to enjoy the season. We would rather be in harmony with nature.
Why We Leave the Synthetics Out
Skin is not simply wrapping paper around the body. It is living tissue, and what we repeatedly put on it matters.
That understanding has guided our work for more than 35 years.
Our approach has always been to work with plants and their naturally occurring chemistry rather than trying to make plants behave like synthetic cosmetics.
That means PN5 is made without synthetic chemicals, fragrances or colors.
It contains no alcohol, parabens, phthalates, paraffin, gluten, propylene glycol, mineral oil, no synthetic colors, or fragrances. See our complete Ingredient List.
There are also no unnecessary fillers added simply to bulk up the jar, and no synthetic emulsifiers. Instead, the base begins with organic cold-pressed shea nut butter and organic cold-pressed coconut oil, combined with our Pumpkinight Formula of real pumpkin, spices, and essential oils.
One Little Jar Can Do a Lot
Although we think of Level 5 first as intensive moisture for dry skin, it is remarkably versatile and almost all skin types can use it.
Use PN5 on areas that tend to become very dry or chapped, including hands, elbows, knees, and heels. Smooth a very small amount onto the face when richer moisture is appropriate. Work a little through dry ends of hair or into a beard. Massage it around nails and cuticles. It can also be useful anywhere everyday friction leaves the skin needing additional moisture and protection.
Because Level 5 is so concentrated, more isn't better. Start tiny. You can always add another touch.
Rub it in well so your skin can continue to breathe.
Plants Don't Come Off an Assembly Line
There is another difference between a truly plant-based moisturizer and a conventional synthetic one:
Not every batch may look exactly the same.
Pumpkins vary. Spices vary. Coconuts vary. Shea varies.
Plants respond to rain, soil, temperature, harvest time and growing conditions. Their natural colors, scents and textures can shift.
We consider that normal.
When a future batch of PN5 is a little lighter, darker, softer, firmer or slightly different in aroma, it doesn't mean something has gone wrong. See more about the Texture, Use, and Storage of Level 5.
It is evidence that we're working with real agricultural ingredients rather than forcing every batch into artificial uniformity.
The Pumpkinight Family

I have spent more than 35 years researching plants, developing formulas, listening to our customers, and learning what happens when traditional plant knowledge meets a deeper understanding of botanical chemistry.
